Wyon, crowned arms and supporters with Hanoverian inescutcheon, small rose below, rev. arms of the City of London, named (Benjamin Kilburn), 41mm, 26.00g (Naylor 6a; Caldecott 4; E 1239; Hawkins p.774). Very fine and toned, scarce £300-400

Benjamin Kilburn, broker, 1 Great Winchester street, London W, was the first person to have their life insured with the Universal Life Assurance Society, now Commercial Union. His policy, for £1,000, was issued on 3 June 1834
