Royal Navy L.S. & G.C., G.V.R., 2nd issue, fixed suspension (L. 6600 H. W. Everet, O.S. 1, H.M.S. Spey); Royal Fleet Reserve L.S. & G.C., G.VI.R., 1st issue (J. 101979 (Ch. B. 23495) R. L. Smith, A.B., R.F.R.), the first with minor official correction, one or two edge bruises but geneerally very fine or better (2) £40-60

Harry Walter Everet, who was born at Poplar, Middlesex in May 1894, joined the Royal Navy as an Officer’s Steward 3rd Class in April 1915. Posted to the R.N.A.S. at Eastchurch, he served there until March 1918, when he was attached to the Royal Air Force. Post-war he was advanced to Officer’s Steward 1st Class in 1924 and was awarded his L.S. & G.C. Medal in May 1929.

Robert Leonard Smith, who was born in Romford, Essex in February 1905, entered the Royal Navy as a Boy 2nd Class in April 1921. He was advanced to Able Seaman in the cruiser H.M.S.
Ceres in August 1923 and, no doubt, went on to witness active service in the 1939-45 War.
