Pair: Lieutenant V. C. A. MacLeod, Cameronians, who was killed in action in Palestine on 18 July 1917

Victor Charles Augustus MacLeod was born in 1895. Educated at Edinburgh University, he was a member of the university’s Officer Training Corps. Commissioned a 2nd Lieutenant in the 10th Battalion Cameronians in February 1915, he was posted to Egypt and was wounded in April 1917. As a Lieutenant in the 10th attached 8th Battalion Cameronians, he was killed in action near Gaza, Palestine on 18 July 1917. He was buried in the Gaza War Cemetery. He was the son of Major R. C. MacLeod and Mrs J. Fairley MacLeod of 19 Scotland Street, Edinburgh.
