Kings of Mercia, Coenwulf (796-821), Penny, Canterbury, Werheard, Group IVa, Pincer Cross type, coenvvlf rex m, diademed bust right, rev. perheard moneta, pincer cross, 1.25g/6h (Naismith 45.1; SCBI BM 184; N 347; S 916). Slight bend across centre, hairline crack on inner circle extending to edge which is also ragged between 10 and 2 o’clock, otherwise good very fine, light find patina, scarce £600-£800
