Canadian Memorial Cross, G.VI.R. (B40909 Pte. J. J. Dietch.) very fine £70-£90

John Joseph Dietch was born in Toronto, Canada in March 1921, and was the son of Emile and Margaret Dietch of Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario. He enlisted in the Canadian Forces in June 1940, and served with the Algonquin Regiment during the Second World War. Private Dietch died on active service on 10 August 1944, and is buried in the Bretteville-sur-Laize Canadian War Cemetery, Calvados, France.
