Punjab 1848-49, 2 clasps, Mooltan, Goojerat (Lieut. Wm. David Dickson, 3rd Regt. N.I.) light edge bruising and contact marks, otherwise very fine £500-600

William David Dickson joined the Bombay Establishment as an Ensign on 2 March 1841, becoming Lieutenant in January 1845. He served with the 3rd Bombay Native Infantry throughout the Punjab campaign of 1848-49, including the siege and surrender of Mooltan, battle of Goojerat, and pursuit and surrender of the Sikh army. He was promoted to Captain in November 1846, to Major in March 1861, and to Lieutenant-Colonel in March 1867. From September 1864 he was Cantonment Magistrate at Neemuch, and later Political Agent and Judge of the Small Cause Court in the same place. He was made Brevet Colonel in March 1872 and died during 1879.
