Egypt and Sudan 1882-89, dated reverse, 2 clasps, Suakin 1884, El-Teb (W. E. Elliott, A.B. H.M.S. “Euryalus”) very fine and scarce £250-300

Only 74 El-Teb clasps issued to R.N. recipients, including 19 to this ship.

W. E. Elliott was born at Southanpton in 1857 and entered the Royal Navy as a Boy aboard H.M.S.
St Vincent in 1872. While in Euryalus, which he joined in 1882, he was promoted to Leading Seaman and then to Petty Officer 2nd Class. When he retired in 1895 he was rated Petty Officer 1st Class.
