William George Holmes served in the Protectorate Regiment Field Force, 11 October 1899-3 November 1900, South African Light Horse, 22 November 1900-2 July 1901 and Army Service Corps, 24 September 1901-31 May 1902. Copied roll extracts confirm all but the Cape Colony clasp on the Queen’s medal and only the South Africa 1901 clasp on the King’s medal. Copied discharge papers from the Protectorate Regiment give his address after discharge as ‘Clyde Villas, Chapel Town Rd., Leeds, England’. Sold with copied research details.
