Fus.); together with memorial plaque (Frederick Bates); illuminated memorial scroll; Queen Mary Christmas tin, this in card box of issue with transmission slip to next of kin; transmission slips for 1914 Star and clasp and a Christmas card from recipient, good very fine or better (5) £150-180

Frederick Reeves Bates was born at Stepney, London and lived at Hove, Sussex. He died of wounds in France and Flanders on 24 October 1914, whilst serving with the 1st Battalion, Royal Scots Fusiliers and is buried at Bethune Town Cemetery, France.
