Benjamin Edwards was born in Aberystwyth, and living in Pontlottyn, enlisted at Newport. Serving in the 4th Battalion South Wales Borderers, he died of wounds in Egypt on 18 December 1915, aged 24 years. The son of Thomas and Sarah Edwards of 15 Queen Street, Pontlottyn, Cardiff, He was buried in the Alexandria (Chatby) Military and War Memorial Cemetery.
