Robert Forbes was born in and enlisted at Glasgow. Serving with the 15th Battalion (1st Glasgow) Highland Light Infantry, he was killed in action on 10 July 1916, aged 22 years. Having no known grave, his name is commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial.
