Walter Alexandra was born in Woolwich and enlisted at Gloucester. Serving as a Corporal in “F” Battery Royal Horse Artillery, he was awarded the Military Medal for bravery in the field. As a Serjeant in “F” battery, 14th Brigade, R.H.A., he was killed in action on 24 August 1918, aged 26 years. He was buried in the St. Amand British Cemetery, Pas de Calais, France. He was the son of Margaret Alexandra and the late R.S.M. Walter Alexandra, R.H.A. of 25 Waldemar Avenue, Fulham, London. Sold with Masonic Medal inscribed, ‘Bro. G. F. Alexandra, No3028’; L.C.C. School Attendance Medal, G.V.R. named to ‘D. McNall’, and a Borough of Fulham Coronation Medal 1911, unnamed.
