The Northamptonshire Yeomanry entered France on 4 November 1914 as Divisional Cavalry to the 8th Infantry Division.

Sidney Hasler was born in Northampton on 22 June 1891. By 1911 he was a Railway Clerk and a member of the Northamptonshire Yeomanry, with whom he served in France from 6 November 1914. He was awarded the T.F.E.M. in Army Order 67 of 1919.

The officer submitting the roll for the 1914 Star actually made an error in giving his later Corps of Dragoons service number (D/145019) rather than the number Hasler first entered the theatre of war with (423).

With copied m.i.c. and census extracts. Entitlement to clasp to 1914 Star not given on m.i.c.
