Queen’s South Africa 1899-1902, 1 clasp, Cape Colony (14248 Clerk E. A. Laing, 13th Impl. Yeo.) very fine, rare rank for unit £80-100

Ernest Alexander Morrison Laing was born in Clapton, Middlesex. As a Gentleman he attested for the Special Corps of Imperial Yeomanry on 12 February 1900, aged 32 years. Posted as Private in the 47th Company, 13th Battalion Imperial Yeomany, he served as a Clerk with the Battalion from South Africa, 17 February 1900. He was discharged at his own request in London on 25 July 1900. He was paid a War Gratuity under A.O. No.5 f 1901. With coped attestation papers.
