Arthur Charles Hawkins was born in Surbiton, Surrey and enlisted in the Royal Flying Corps in July 1914, aged 20 years. Embarked for France that November, he served on the strength of No. 4 Squadron until his death from septicaemia on 5 February 1915. He is buried in Longuenesse (St. Omer) Cemetery, in the Pas de Calais; sold with research.
