A French Navy Admiral and General Staff Officer's Sword M. An.XII (1803).
Overall 97cm long, double edged 79cm. Superb quality heavily gilded brass hilt retaining almost all original finish. Crossguard has Neptune holding his trident on front, and a large anchor on the back. Inside of guard has a large high relief anchor, silver wire grip, and Greco-Roman helmet pommel. Small spots of very light pitting on blade, generally very good condition £500-£700
