Indian Mutiny 1857-58, 2 clasps, Lucknow, Central India (2nd Bn. Rifle Bde.); Army L.S. & G.C., V.R., small letter reverse (Garrison Qr. Mr. Sergt., G.O.C.C. 17th June 1875) naming engraved in fine running script as normal for this scarce variety issued in India, contact marks, therefore nearly very fine (2)

Thomas Morgan was born in Lambeth and attested for the Rifle Brigade at London on 16 December, 1845. After two periods of imprisonment in 1853 and 1855, he was promoted Corporal in 1860, and Sergeant in 1867. He transferred to the 3rd battalion in 1867, to the unattached list in 1868, and was promoted Garrison Quartermaster Sergeant in 1869. He transferred finally to the 2nd 60th Rifles in October, 1870, with whom he served until his final discharge, at Meerut, on 15 January, 1879. His long service medal, without gratuity, was announced in General Orders of the Commander-in-Chief dated Simla, 17 June, 1875. Sold with copy service papers and the relevant G.O.C.C.
