ROLEX – THE ULTIMATE STATEMENT IN PRESTIGE AND LUXURY

The Rolex Perpetual Day Date is considered by many to be the most prestigious watch to own. The first watch to display both the calendar date and day of the week, it first appeared in the mid 1950s.

It was also the first watch to come attached to the signature President bracelet, a feature of so many watches today.

Originally launched in 1956, the Rolex Day-Date is a symbol of success and accomplishment.
Known as ‘The Presidents Watch’, this iconic model has graced the wrists of important world leaders and celebrities such as U.S. President Lyndon Johnson, The Dalai Lama, Michael Jordan and Jack Nicklaus.

Noonans will offer this 18 carat gold Rolex Oyster Perpetual Day-Date, made around 1976, Ref. 1803, in their Watches auction on 13 September 1976.

The gilt dial has applied baton indexes, and the watch is numbered no. 5030438, as well as being signed to the case, dial, movement and bracelet.

It comes with a Rolex Oyster booklet, green document holder and Rolex Datejust tapestry presentation case, and the estimate is £5,000-£7,000.

“As a statement of prestige and luxury, the Rolex brand is hard to beat, and this example is a classic of the range,” says Noonans Watch specialist Joanne Lewis.
