QUEEN VICTORIA LEADS THE HIGHLIGHTS

Early coins from the reign of Queen Victoria (1837-1901) stole the limelight at this sale, led by a Proof Halfcrown of 1839, which went above top estimate to sell for £4,000.

Also above estimate was a very rare Victoria an 1839 Halfcrown, which took £3,800, while several other rare Victorian coins sold for sums between £1,400 and £2,200.

 

A 1904 Halfcrown from the reign of Edward VII (1901-1910) in About Mint state also took £2,200, while a 1934 Crown from the reign of George V in near very fine state, sold for £1,500.
