DUAL ROLE AND DUAL FACES DOUBLE THE ATTRACTION FOR TOP LOTS

An exceptional watch in terms of jewels, craftsmanship and rarity proved its worth on 12 September when bidders took it well past it £7,000 upper estimate to a hammer price of £18,000.

The piece in question was a lady’s white gold, emerald, ruby and diamond-set ring watch by Piaget, made around 1976.

According to Piaget, this stunning ring watch model is one of only three such pieces produced between 1966 and 1976, and Piaget have confirmed that they have a similar example in their Private Collection.

The pavé diamond-set dial is surrounded by an 18ct white gold, rear wound case, the rectangular mount set with emeralds, diamonds and rubies.

Dial, case and movement are all signed. Made to fit ring size K½, it comes with its presentation case.

A further highlight proved to be a Jaeger LeCoultre. lady’s pink gold and diamond-set dual dial wristwatch – a Reverso Duetto Classique, c.2016. As can be seen in the image here, it sports two swivelling dials powered by a single movement. The first is a stunning pavé diamond-set dial, the second an Art Deco inspired black dial, allowing the wearer to adapt the style of dial to compliment any outfit.

The case is in 18ct pink gold, with diamond-set bezel, and the reverse has two bands of diamonds. It also features a diamond-set winding crown and 18ct gold double folding clasp.

Signed to the case, dial, movement and clasp, it sold over high estimate at £6,500.
