As Chairman and CEO, Pierce oversees all business operations and strategic development, as well as maintaining an active role in the medal department where he’s a reputed specialist. He began his auction career in the coin and medal department of Bond Street auction house Phillips, later moving to Spink, then part of Christies. In 1996 he was invited to become a director and partner at new, fast-growing auctioneer Buckland Dix and Wood, later to become Dix Noonan Webb (DNW) and now Noonans.

During the past 25 years, Pierce has guided the company’s expansion, increasing the depth and breadth of its in-house expertise and its transition to the digital age.
