Collection
William Roberts, who was born at Cwmtillery and enlisted at Crumlin, was first embarked for active service in early November 1914. Killed in action on the Somme on 27 November 1916, while serving as a Lance-Sergeant in the 2nd Battalion, Monmouthshires, he was buried in the A.I.F. Burial Ground, Grass Lane, Flers.
