‘Sergeant John Jones, Monmouthshire Regiment, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jones of Baron Street, Uak, died of wounds in France on 3 June. Official notification has been received by the relatives, also letters of condolence and sympathy from the Army Chaplain, the Sister of the clearing station, where the deceased died, and the Usk U.D.C. He volunteered for service on 5 August 1914. He was married as recently as 10 January last, his bride being Miss Francis Hudson of Boston, Lincolnshire. He was 26 years of age. Much sympathy is felt for Mr. and Mrs. Jones, who lost another son earlier in the year.
