Slabbed in NGC holders, graded PF 65, PF 66, PF 67 and PF 67 respectively. 100 struck of each denomination. Prior to March 1947 Burma had used Indian coins and received a share in the profits from their circulation. In 1949 the Burmese government decided to issue its own coins and four denominations, known in London as the half- and quarter-rupee and the 2- and 1-anna, were struck at the Royal Mint; a 2 pyas (known colloquially as a half-anna) appeared in 1950 (although confusingly dated 1949), but this was not a Royal Mint issue and so the 1949 ‘proof set’ listed as KM. PS1 does not constitute a group of coins struck by one mint
