Fred Wallwork Millington was born in Worsley, Lancashire, and attested for the Manchester Regiment at Pendleton, Manchester. He served with the 20th Battalion during the Great War on the Western Front from 9 November 1915, and died of wounds on 14 March 1916. He is buried in Point 110 New Military Cemetery, Fricourt, France.
