Patey, Neptune reclining with trident and urn above a view of a boat on the Danube, reverse legend above tablet, 60mm (PBE –; BDM –). Obverse spotted, very fine, rare; in brown fitted case of issue (£60-80)

By the Treaty of Paris, signed on 30 March 1856, Russia agreed to neutralise the Black Sea and ceded the mouth of the Danube to Moldavia, which became Romania in 1859
