Harold Wood died as a result of an accident while serving aboard the battleship H.M.S. Canada on 10 February 1916. Aged 17 years, he was buried in St. Michael’s Church, Flixton, Manchester; sold with photocopied local newspaper cutting, which includes a portrait photograph.

Henry Benjamin Boniface was born in Eastbourne, Sussex in October 1880 and entered the Royal Navy as a Stoker 2nd Class in September 1899. Advanced to Leading Stoker in February 1913, he was awarded his L.S. & G.C. in September of the following year, while serving in the cruiser H.M.S. King Alfred, and went on to serve in the sloop Daphne from June 1915 until August 1919. Boniface was pensioned ashore as a Stoker Petty Officer in September 1921.
