Agricultural, Arboricultural & Horticultural Prize Medals of Scotland, Ross agricultural society, white metal prize medal, the man of Ross, with wreath of flowers and fruit, S (retrograde) on truncation, reverse two female figures holding a garland (DW p. 178/595-R). A little discoloured but good very fine and still attractive, rare (£50-80)

Davis and Waters note examples in both silver (which must be of very great rarity) and white metal. The first example of this medal seen by the catalogue. The date of the medal is not known but the style points to the late 18th century.
