CELTIC COINS Corieltauvi, Hosidius type, Unit, boar right, ring motif above and below, reverse Celticised horse left, ring motif above and below, but not in front of horse, 0.8 gms (CCB 855.3; S 396). Obverse fine, reverse about very fine, dark patina (£40-50)

Stated to be ex. Mossop collection. The prototype silver of the Corieltauvi, renamed by Van Arsdell, who saw the denarii of C. Hosidius c.f. Geta as the prototype, was carefully catalogued and because of its numismatic interest fully illustrated. The present coin does not seem to match any of the coins shown on the plates.
