William Henry Wreford-Brown served in the campaign on the North West Frontier of India under Sir William Lockhart in 1897-98 with the Tirah 1897-98 Expeditionary Force and the Khyber Force, with the 1st Battalion, Duke of Cornwall’s Light Infantry (Medal with two clasps). Hr served in the South Africa war in 1902 with the 2nd Battalion, Essex Regiment (Medal with three clasps). Only three officers of the Essex Regiment earned the India General Service 1895-1902, Wreford-Brown’s medal being unique with these clasps.
