Private John M. Papworth, 20th Battalion London Regiment, entered the France/Flanders theatre of war on 9 March 1915. Bing discharged, he re-enlisted into the Regular Army on 11 April 1916. As C.S.M. with the M.G.C. he was awarded the M.S.M. for service in France/Flanders. With copied gazette extracts and m.i.c. for the W.W.1 medals.
