WORLD ART MEDALS France, Conservation des Fôrets, or Terraum Decus, 1904, a silver medal by H. Cros for the SAMF, half-length figure of naked woman, representing the Goddess of the Forest, with a wreath around her body, reverse Goddess in the act of stopping a centaur from gnawing at a tree, 60mm, edge stamped 68 (Coll. R. Marx 115; BM Acq. 1978-82, pl.40, 53; BDM –; cf. DNW 45, 760). Light surface marks, otherwise very fine, very rare in silver (£80-120)
