28th (North Gloucestershire) Regiment, an extremely fine and scarce pair of a junior battalion company officer’s full dress box epaulettes, c1840-1855, retailed by W & T Buckmaster and of the ‘improved’ sprung-button clip pattern; large gilt metal crescents with correct lace pattern straps and finial buttons (Parkyn Fig 242); bullions 7.5cm in length but only .04cm in width suggests the rank of Ensign, complete with the original chamois lined carrying tin, the condition generally very fine with the gilt excellent but a few of the bullions are fractured but not stretched, the thread used to secure the bases of the bullions missing on both epaulettes, carrying ring on the tin missing £400-600
