A Charge of The Light Brigade pair to Private William Phillips, 11th (Prince Albert’s Own) Hussars

Crimea 1854-56, 4 clasps, Alma, Balaklava, Inkermann, Sebastopol (1370 Wm. Phillips, 11th P.A.O. Hussars); Turkish Crimea 1855, Sardinian issue (1370 William Phillips, XI P.A.O. Hussars) both regimentally impressed, first medal with crudely re-fixed soldered suspension, top three clasps now detached and loose on ribbon, both medals polished and with edge bruising and contact wear, thus only about fine or better (2) £600-800

Private William Phillips was born at Westminster, London, and enlisted into the 11th Hussars in April 1848. He is confirmed as having ridden in the charge on 25 October 1854 and was a member of the Balaclava Commemoration Society.
