Thomas Coats was born in the Parish of Marshfield, Gloucestershire, and attested for the Grenadier Guards at Bath on 3 September 1806, for unlimited service. He served in Colonel Barclay’s Company at Waterloo, and was discharged on 14 November 1825, aged about 45 years.
