(Military) 1st type, silver-gilt and enamel, repair to suspension; East and West Africa 1887-1900, 1 clasp, Witu 1890; British War and Victory Medals; Legion of Honour, silver-gilt and enamel, mounted as worn, good very fine (5)

Captain James William Guy Innes was born in 1873, a native of Kincardineshire, Scotland, educated H.M.S. Britannia and R.N. College Dartmouth, entered the Royal Navy 1887; served in the Naval Brigade aboard H.M.S. Conquest under the command of Vice Admiral Sir E. R. Fremantle, K.C.B., Commander-in-Chief, East Indies, for the punitive expedition against against the Sultan of Witu; Lieutenant 1895; Commander 1906; Captain and C.B.E. 1919.
