Offa (757-796), Kings Of Mercia, Offa (757-796), Penny, First Series, Light coinage, moneyer Lulla, obverse portrait right, legend offa rex me, reverse four bosses surrounded by dots between letters of inscription, in centre, floral ornament (cf BMC 22; cf Blunt 69), 1.25 grms, 20 grains. A little concaved, otherwise very fine or better, a superb portrait of attractive style, even tone, extremely rare (£2500-3000)

The only known example with the abreviation of Mercia in the obverse legend.
