Waterloo 1815 (Joseph Adlam, 1st or Royal Dragoons) fitted with replacement steel clip and ring suspension, heavy edge bruising and contact wear, therefore fine £700-900
Joseph Adlam was born at Wookey, near Wells, Somerset, and enlisted for the 1st Royal Dragoons at Wells on 7 February 1805, aged eighteen years. He served in the Peninsula and at the battle of Waterloo, ‘was wounded by a shell in the left leg and frequent (?) shots in the body and I recommend him for His Majesty’s Royal County of Chelsea Hospital.’ He was discharged ‘worn out’ on 18 April 1827 and admitted as a pensioner to Chelsea Hospital on 30 May 1827. Joseph Adlam died on 13 October 1837. Sold with copy service papers.
