Volunteer Officers’ Decoration, V.R. cypher, silver, hallmarks for London 1892 , reverse engraved ‘Lieut. Colonel A. A. T. Moyes 7th V.B. Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders. Alloa 1892’, lacking top riband bar, very fine £80-100

Andrew A. T. Moyes was born in Dunfermline, Fifeshire. He served with the 7th Volunteer Battalion (Clackmannan and Kinross Rifles) for over thirty years, and commanded the battalion, 1897-1901. During the course of his life he held various positions including: Commissioner of the Police; Junior Magistrate and Honorary President of the Alloa Athletic Football Club. He died in 1903.
