Memorial Plaque 1914-18 (Frank Manns) extremely fine £100-140
Frank Manns, No. 10450 Private, 2nd Battalion, South Wales Borderers, born at Kempley, Gloucester. He took part in the advance to and capture of Tsingtao, September to November 1914, and was killed in action during the “S” Beach landings at Gallipoli, 26 April 1915. He is commemorated by name on the Helles Memorial.
Sold with a letter written to his sister from Tientsin, North China, 8 April 1913, attractively decorated with a Chinese domestic scene.
