William Blackburn, of Bank Top, Blackburn, Lancashire, attested for the Royal Field Artillery and served during the Great War on the Western Front from 31 August 1915. He was awarded the Military Medal whilst serving with ‘D’ (Howitzer) Battery, 150th Brigade, Royal Field Artillery.
