John Kidd was born in Scarborough, Yorkshire, and attested there for the Yorkshire Regiment. He served with the 9th Battalion during the Great War, and was wounded. He died of his wounds at home on 24 July 1917, aged 40 years, and is buried in the Scarborough (Dean Road) Cemetery.
Frank England was born in Horsforth, Yorkshire and attested for the Yorkshire Light Infantry at Otley, Yorkshire, on 10 November 1915. He served during the Great War in the Yorkshire Light Infantry and then the Labour Corps. In August 1916 he was suffering bronchitis and weak chest contracted by gas poisoning and exposure. He transferred to Class ‘Z’ Reserve in March 1919.
