Geoffrey Lawn was born in Cape Town, South Africa, and resided in Wortley, Leeds prior to the Great War. He served during the Great War with the 4th Battalion, Yorkshire Regiment in the French theatre of war from 9 September 1915.
Corporal Lawn died of wounds on the Western Front, 30 March 1918, and is buried in the St. Sever Cemetery Extension, Rouen, France.
