New Zealand 1845-66, reverse dated 1861 to 1866 (220 Gunr. John Newall, C Batty., 4th Brigde. R.A.) officially impressed naming, contact marks, very fine £360-£400

According to the medal roll, John Newall was present in New Zealand in the actions at Waitara, Kalikara, Gate Pah and Te Ranga. The battery was later awarded the Honour Title “New Zealand”, and is currently known as 94 (New Zealand) Headquarters Battery of the 4th Regiment Royal Artillery.
