Sergeant Jeremiah Scannell is confirmed on an individual roll for ‘1st Bn. Leinster Regt.’ as being entitled to this medal and clasp for service with the Commissariat Transport Department, No 8 Field Hospital, Chittagong Column, 14th January to 30th April, 1890, and that he ‘belonged to the Bengal Presidency when the medal was earned.’
Cresswell’s Irish Medals confirms Lieutenant Willcocks and Sergeant Scannell as the only two recipients of this clasp to the Leinster Regiment.
