James Crouch was born in Cape Province and attested for the South African Overseas Expeditionary Force at Potchefstroom on 15 September 1917. He served with the 2nd South African Infantry during the Great War, and was killed in action on the Western Front on 12 April 1918. He has no known grave, and is commemorated on the Ypres (Menin Gate) Memorial, Belgium. Sold with copied service papers.
Percy George Reynold Stanley was born in Natal and attested for the South African Overseas Expeditionary Force at Potchefstroom on 13 September 1915. He served with the 2nd South African Infantry during the Great War, and was killed in action on the Western Front on 12 October 1916. He is buried in Ovillers Military Cemetery, France. Sold with copied service papers.
