Frank Harwood Hunter was commissioned Second Lieutenant in the Royal Artillery from the 124th O.C.T.U. and Coastal Artillery School on 15 February 1941, and transferred as a Lieutenant to the Hampshire Regiment on 12 August 1944. He was awarded the Efficiency Medal on 14 November 1946.
