Crimea 1854-56, 3 clasps, Alma, Balaklava, Sebastopol (J. Adams. 8th Dragoons.) officially impressed naming, medal has been in a circular mount for wear as a widow’s brooch, with consequent rubbing to naming, suspension since re-affixed, otherwise good very fine £3,000-£4,000
Joshua Adams was killed in the charge of the Light Brigade at Balaklava, 25 October 1854. Medals to those who were killed or died in the Crimea were invariably impressed ‘Dragoons’ rather than ‘Hussars’, as found on most medals to survivors.
