James Manley enlisted into the 5th Foot at Banbury on 12 October 1867. He served in India from December 1869 to December 1880, including the campaign in Afghanistan in 1878-80. He transferred to the West Yorkshire Regiment, No. 571, on 12 October 1883. Sold with copied papers.
