Territorial Force Efficiency Medal, E.VII.R. (100 Sapr. G. Butcher. W. Riding D.E. R.E.) nearly very fine £100-£140

George Butcher was born in Sheffield, Yorkshire, in 1879 and served with the West Riding Divisional Engineers, Royal Engineers (Territorial Force), being awarded his Territorial Force Efficiency Medal in 1910. He served with the 458th Field Company, Royal Engineers during the Great War in the Egyptian theatre of War from 30 March 1915, and subsequently on the Western Front, and died of wounds on 12 December 1917. He is buried in Lijssenthoek Military Cemetery, Belgium
